Compa BBQ table

What is a Compa BBQ table?
Compa grill table is designed for Kamado and Green Egg grills. The standard models are made of coniferous wood and come in two sizes – 21 inches (S) and 24/26 inches (M/L). Ceramic grills are heavy and require a solidly constructed table. Thin wood, screw connections and finger joints are not durable in outdoor conditions, which is why we have created our models with solid wood and through tenon joints. The frame of the grill tables is constructed with tenon joints and secured with wooden pegs, ensuring the stability of the table in changing outdoor conditions. The surface panels are fixed with consideration for the wood’s expansion and contraction in outdoor conditions, using a so-called floating fastening method. Before the finishing coat, all wood is deep-primed.
Terms of use and maintenance
Wooden products are not intended to be exposed to direct sunlight and rain. Compa BBQ table should also be protected from rain and sun. The optimal location for the table is in a covered area. Humidity fluctuations or temporary rain-wet conditions are not harmful to the table. The construction is made taking into account humidity fluctuations. Table can be renewed by sanding and coating with solvent-based varnishes. A suitable option for this is, for example, Pinotex Ultra.
Why are there no wheels?
We have been asked a lot why Compa BBQ tables don’t have wheels. The answer is simple. Since the table with the grill weighs up to 130 kg (286 lbs) depending on the size of the grill, and we do not know on which surface the table will be used, we cannot offer a warranty for the table with wheels.
However, you can screw wheels onto the table at your discretion. In this case, holes should be pre-drilled for the screws, and at least 6×100 mm screws should be used. We strongly recommend carefully considering the necessity of wheels. In our opinion, the table with wheels loses durability and some of its aesthetic appeal.
What to do if the BBQ table gets damaged?
The grill table in the picture has been left outdoors for two years. It has been used both in the scorching sun in the summer and in the snowdrifts in the winter, never covered from the weather.
As you can see in the picture, the finish has turned black, but the structure of the table is not damaged, table does not wobble from the joints and is still stable as new. However, the glued wood handle of the Kamado grill has started to separate into parts. The specific BBQ table is from the second generation, where the legs are glued from two parts and small cracks have appeared in the connections, which once again shows the weakness of glued wood when exposed to direct weather. On the third generation tables, we also use monolithic wood in the legs. The specific table can be effortlessly restored to as good as new. The top surface boards need to be sanded and covered again with wood stain.
Anyone can do the maintenance themselves, or order it from us as a service, where the price range is between €50 – €100 (+ VAT), depending on the condition of the table. The restoration of the grill table in question cost the customer 80 € (+ VAT).
